Lidia Ranns is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Lancaster and Morecambe, dedicated to following a lifelong creative passion. She refined her craft over 25 years ago as a graphic designer, graduating from Blackburn College in 2006 with The Agnes Eccles Award for outstanding achievement. This extensive design background established her foundation in structure and precision, which informs all her artwork today.

While raising her two children took priority for many years, her deep rooted passion for painting never faded. Now, Lidia is established as a highly versatile artist, channeling her energy into creating. Her work is instantly recognisable for its use of bright, bold, and contrasting colours, maintaining a signature aesthetic across all mediums.

Lidia’s creative output is defined expressive original watercolour paintings that are pure expressions of the medium, focusing entirely on organic flow, light, and luminous colour, often capturing the unique atmosphere of Morecambe Bay sunsets and the Lancashire landscapes. Separate from this is her precise vector illustration, which showcases her sharp graphic art background.

Her love for graphic styles and nostalgia converges in her popular 'Bygone Days' series. These prints blend nostalgia and her illustrative skills applying a modern, bold twist to local favourite places like the Art Deco Midland Hotel. She is proud to have been a finalist for Lancashire Artist of the Year 2023 and a Theo Paphitis #SBS Winner the same year, and supports the local community through her volunteer role at The Gregson Centre in Lancaster.
